The
program supports Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
The StartMenuX installer contains 32- and 64-bit versions of the program.
The Start Menu X installation package consists of the following two programs: Start Menu X – the program that replaces the system menu and Group Manager, a tool that helps organize programs into virtual groups.
The program does not modify your system and it absolutely safe to use. Start Menu X uses documented Windows Hook functions and can be easily enabled or disabled.
The program displays and merges the content of 4 folders –
%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
%programdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
%programdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
That is why there can be up to 4 files in different locations behind a single menu item. This is especially important for such operations as file copying and deletion. However, Start Menu X is smart and takes this peculiarity into account when possible.
